    Tuesday & Wednesday one week – Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday the next week.

    Shift Times: 08:00 to 16:00 rotating

    About the role:

    The SAFE Coordinator practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as well as within a patient and family centered care model.

    The SAFE Coordinator provides leadership to the Sexual Assault Forensic Examination (SAFE) Program at the assigned site as well as supporting regional SAFE work.

    The SAFE Coordinator provides supervision, coordination of SAFE services, clinical support, and mentorship of SAFE staff.

    Demonstrates expertise and provides clinical leadership and consultation to staff, patients, and members of the interdisciplinary team by consulting with experts, collaborating with other members of the team and providing current information based on application of forensic nursing theories, concepts and principles.

    The SAFE Coordinator evaluates program effectiveness to ensure clinical area objectives are met and that resources are current, relevant, and cost effective.

    Role models direct care skills to staff based on application of theories, concepts, and principles to provide excellence in quality care.

    Using IH organizational framework participates in quality improvement, evaluation, and risk management activities and participates in research and special projects.
