Job Duties/Qualifications, Skills and Abilities(QSA):

    Job Duties
  • Coordinate the development and operation of the Simulation and Anatomy and Physiology Lab. Provide health education simulation and operational support for multiple programs across the multiple programs. Work in conjunction with Saskpolytechnic Simulation Lab personnel at Saskatoon Campus along with other campus locations. Evenings and weekends maybe required as per program needs.
Duties;

  • Ensure security of the simulation lab.
  • Acquisition, storage, setup and provision of supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain adequate volume numbers of all revolving inventory products.
  • Share all assets between two divisions within multiple programs with adequate packing and correct labeling.
  • Update and maintain a database for management of the simulation lab.
  • Design and maintain contents for the creation and maintenance of electronic and hard copy records of the technical equipment and scenarios developed.
  • Establish environment, equipment and supply requirements to provide clinically correct and safe simulation learning events.
  • Calculate the methods of delivering equipment and supplies in a safe, organized and accessible manner for booked events.
  • Perform an annual physical count of all assets, compile the results and determine amount to be reordered. Perform counts on lab utilization.
  • Insert product coding and inventory tracking for all non-capital assets.
  • Assist Program Head with scheduling staffing needs for hospital unit.
  • Dismantle and store supplies and equipment following lab events.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)

  • 1. Graduate of a post secondary health sciences program or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Two years experience working in a health care setting, health education environment or simulation learning environment.
  • Training or experience at the intermediate level in the use of MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of current products and procedures used in health care for simulation practice.
  • Effective communication (listening, oral, written) skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to establish work flow priorities, meet deadlines and complete tasks with mínimal supervision.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with mínimal supervision.
  • Demonstrates valuing diversity.**Desired QSA
