Position Summary:


The Stores Clerk is responsible for functions within the Maintenance department, specifically those relating to inventory and maintenance material control.

This position requires the incumbent to mainly interact with the maintenance staff in a production environment.


Relationships and Contacts:

This person reports directly to the Stores Supervisor


Major Responsibilities:


  • The control and distribution of all maintenance materials, spare parts, and stock items.
  • Verify inventory records and correct discrepancies.
  • Distribute storeroom materials in accordance with requisition forms.
  • Order items to restock storeroom and maintain minimum inventory levels.
  • Ensure the storeroom is kept clean and orderly.
  • Receive inventory to match packing slips, expediting orders and back orders.
  • Inventory control, cycle counts.
  • Data entry and filing.
  • Kitting parts for work order jobs to be executed.
  • Maintain instructor certification for plant equipment as required.
  • Maintain a high level of energy, urgency, and responsiveness to ensure plant production is maximized.
  • Equipment safety training for employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Using or wearing the protective equipment designated by the accident prevention policy.
  • Follow safe work procedures.
  • Reporting immediately to their supervisor any unsafe conditions or acts.
  • Reporting all accidents or injuries to your supervisor immediately.

Food Safety Responsibilities

  • Commitment to Quality System Policy
  • Enforce quality and food safety programs within the role.
  • Communication of food safety issues to related department and action within the role.
  • Active participation in food safety, food security, health, sanitation, hygiene, and quality program within the role

Qualifications and Abilities

  • Must be selfdisciplined; with the ability to be well organized, precise, and attentive to details.
  • Able to work independently, primarily alone and with mínimal supervision.
  • Ability to drive stand up forklift.
  • Able to work with, and enforce, applicable company policies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; both written and oral.
  • Willingness to take the initiative to share relevant information as required.
  • Focus on problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Very customer driven.
  • Strong computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft office and AS/400.

Physical Requirements:


  • Stand/walk for 8 hours.
  • Ability to squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, use ladders, climb stairs.
  • Lifting up to 50lb/23kg
  • Carrying up to 50lb/23kg
  • Pushing/pulling up to 50lb/23kg

Salary:
$15.00-$21.09 per hour
