    Description

    Your Opportunity:

    As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.

    Description:

You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.

    Required Qualifications:

    Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.

    Additional Required Qualifications:

    Proficient in the following computer skills: Connect Care, Clinibase, Microsoft Office. Medical Terminology required. Ability to work in a highly acute and fast paced patient care area. Adapt to frequent interruptions and require strong interpersonal skills. Strong organization skills, with the ability to prioritize work and problem solve. Ability to tolerate constant sitting, walking, standing, kneeling, bending, reaching and sustained posture within a fast-paced unit requiring lifting, pushing, pulling of objects greater than 20 lbs.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Recent clerical experience in a health care setting, acute care preferred.
