CRA's National Employment Equity (EE)

Staffing Strategy strives to eliminate EE gaps for the four EE designated groups:

Where an EE gap exists at the time of appointment, EE may be used as an appointment criterion for permanent and temporary appointments/staffing actions over six months made through this process.


Key Activities of the job being staffed:

  • Operates materiel handling equipment, e.g. motorized and non-motorized forklifts, and drives light and heavy vehicles.
  • Receives, verifies, inventories, stores, issues, distributes, ships and disposes of materiel.
  • Processes incoming and outgoing mail including counting and recording of all remittances.
  • Maintains statistics on incoming and outgoing mail volumes and inputs mail and materiel management data into the Agency corporate administrative system.
  • Reports damages, shortages and deterioration of materiel.
  • Picks up classified waste from clients and prepares for destruction.
  • Dismantles moves and erects office enclosures and provides basic maintenance, moving, and storage services.
  • Provides guidance to Agency clients regarding materiel handling and mail services.
The pool established from this staffing process may be used to staff similar positions.

Please note that as a result of this staffing process, position(s) will be staffed at 875 Heron Road, Ottawa, ON K1A 1A2.


However, it is anticipated that effective Fall of 2023 the work location associated with these positions will change to the following new address: 2215 Gladwin Crescent, Ottawa, ON K1B 4K9.

Thus, employees who occupy a position and/or are physically located at 875 Heron Road will be expected to move to the new work location.

Essential staffing requirements
To be eligible, you must meet the following requirements.


Education

  • A secondary school diploma

Experience

Have *experience in:

  • Driving fleet vehicles such as large cargo vans (E150) AND large cube trucks (F550)
  • Must possess valid license (with ability to operate a vehicle over 4500kg)
  • Provide driving record (
    see Note below)

AND

  • Using power tools (e.g. drills and saws)

AND

  • Stretching, climbing, bending, lifting, and carrying heavy cartons, mailbags, pallets, and furniture exceeding 30 kilograms and pushing heavy carts or equipment on a daily basis

AND

  • Operating material handling equipment (e.g. motorized and nonmotorized forklifts, pump trucks, dollies, carts)

Experience is normally associated with the performance of these functions as part of the major job duties accomplished for a period of no less than 6 cumulative months in the last 10 years.
