Learning Services/Board Math Lead

Effective August 21, 2023

Overall Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Associate Director of Education - Instructional Services, The Superintendent of Education - Learning Services/Board Math Lead will be responsible for informing, monitoring, and providing timely reporting of progress towards math achievement and improvement targets and will lead board-wide actions to meet these targets.

This position will also be responsible for:

attending ministry learning and networking sessions; ensuring fidelity to the Ontario curriculum; and supporting the consistent and intentional implementation of high-impact instructional practices.

The Superintendent of Education - Learning Services/Board Math Lead will also develop parent math resources and facilitate job-embedded educator professional learning opportunities in math.

The Superintendent of Education - Learning Services/Board Math Lead is responsible for ensuring that the integration of programs and services offered in the Dufferin-Peel schools is current, appropriate, and consistent with the board's philosophy of Catholic education in keeping with the board's mission statement, Multi-Year Strategic Plan (MYSP) and in conformity with the policy, guidelines and standards issued by the Ministry of Education and within the overall _Acts_ and Regulations of the province.

- an exemplary record of demonstrated commitment to the Catholic faith and to Catholic education
- a record of progressive leadership experiences coupled with superior communication and interpersonal skills
- demonstrated system leadership and specialized expertise in math, where possible
- successful experience as a Principal
- demonstrated practice of school improvement, student achievement and well-being
- ability to cultivate positive working relationships with trustees, the ministry of education, associations, municipalities, and other school boards.
- demonstrated understanding of the diverse nature of our school communities
- experience in fostering communities in diverse settings with multiple stakeholders in a collegial and collaborative manner
- experience in instructional coaching, building educator and administrator capacity in mathematics teaching, and designing and monitoring school and board learning.
- the ability to engage in collaborative planning and creative problem solving
- expertise in instructional leadership and commitment to educational programs and services that respects and upholds the philosophy and traditions of Catholic schools in Dufferin-Peel and throughout the Province of Ontario.
- facilitating and/or writing additional qualification courses in math
- a record of comprehensive experience in school and board-wide activities.
- a record of exemplary leadership in publicly funded Catholic education.
- understanding the importance of the integration between the instructional and corporate departments of the board in increasing student achievement and well being

Ontario Supervisory Officer qualifications preferably obtained from the Catholic Community Delivery Organization
Math Specialist qualifications, is preferred
Religious Education, Part III
