**Full-Time Contract Position

  • Maternity Leave Coverage (
    _Unionized_)**The Receptionist/Intake Worker will be responsible for initial customer service response, reception activities and facilities in a manner that is consistent with ANS customer service policies and procedures. The Receptionist/Intake Worker will be the first point of contact for clients, partners and the community at large, both inperson and over the phone.

Accountability


The staff members of Albion Neighbourhood Services are expected to be willing, when requested, to explain the reasons for a decision or action to other staff or community members, particularly when others are affected by the decision or action.

When affected by programming, policies and procedures, staff are expected to offer information and opinions when relevant for the development of new or changing services, policies and procedures.

The Manager is directly accountable to the Department Manager


Reports to:
Manager

  • Access Department

Responsibilities
- person ensuring seamless client intake process in responding to client multifaceted needs.

  • Ensure the required documents are complete prior to client's appointment with the worker.
  • Ensure main reception and office equipment are maintained.
  • Provide assistance collecting user fees and ensure necessary documents are maintained.
  • Provide support for Voice Mail as directed.
  • Ensure that public areas and kitchen are tidy, safe, and clean always.
  • Maintain office supply inventory and submit orders.
  • Experience or familiarity with resources and services available in the community and neighbouring communities
  • Oppression Framework
  • Provide mediation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Other duties as assigned.

Provide photocopying and fax service to clients.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Relevant education and/or experience in administration/ reception and customer service
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of specific issues faced by the community and sensitivity to their needs.
  • Knowledge of the Rexdale community is an asset.
  • Experience in customer service and dealing with vulnerable population.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with coworkers and community partners.
  • Experience with maintaining statistics and reports.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Competency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel, as well as data reporting programs.

Contract Start Date:
August 2023


Extended Benefits:
This position is not eligible for extended benefits.


Work Schedule Monday

  • Friday 9:30 am to 5:00 pm and occasional evenings and weekends, when necessary, with some flexibility as per funding requirements

Compensation:
$22.00 hr (includes applicable pay equity)
