_ What will you be doing__?_**
JOB OVERVIEW
Prepare meals per portion and quality standards specified in recipes.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPrepare meals for respective section(s) (restaurant, outlets, etc.) and assist in all kitchen activities to ensure that guests receive high-quality food items promptly.

  • Maintain a clean kitchen by cleaning all work surfaces used in food preparation on an ongoing basis.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and well organized work area, including reach ins, walk ins, and counters.
Report all unsafe or malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor.

  • Label, Date, Refrigerate, Inspect, Rotate all stored foods.
  • Gather leftovers and maintain white and brown mirepoix for stocks, soups, and sauces.
  • Chop's all herbs and stocks mise en place for service.
  • May maintain supplies and equipment (trays, China, silver, and condiments) for service at the station areas.
  • Advise supervisor of low inventory items and problems related to equipment, food quality, portions, etc.
  • Perform receiving and inventory duties as specified by supervisor; stock supplies as requested.
  • Assist cooks and may assist stewards during peak activity periods and taking direction from First Cook
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow recipes as set out by the Company.
  • Follows a training plan set out by the Executive Chef, the ministry of education and training.
  • Taste all foods prepared and check with First Cook for guidance on quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
In carrying out your duties you will follow all Company and Brand Standards

  • May assist with other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTSHigh School diploma or equivalent plus one year of 1 year of experience in food preparation, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Some colleges are preferred.

  • Friendly and hospitality focused
  • Attention to detail.
  • Certification of culinary training or apprenticeship
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced, stressful environment.
