Home and Community Supervisor Maple Ridge
Regular Full-Time: 37.5 hours per week
Hourly Rate:
Step 1: $28.39, Step 2: $29.74, Step 3: $31.41, Step 4: $33.06
**Hours: 37.5/week Schedule: Monday 3:30-11:00pm Tuesday & Wednesday 8:00am-3:30pm Thursday 3:30-11:00pm Friday 8:00am-3:30pm Flexible schedule sometimes required
The Burnaby Association for Community Inclusion provides a range of supports and services to people with developmental disabilities. Our Home and Community services is looking for a supervisor to oversee a supported living home. Supervisors at BACI oversee a team, leading and coaching staff and working directly to with residents to ensure a good life for the people who receive full supports in their home.
Responsibilities:
- Support people served to identify the goals which will move them on the path to lead their ideal life
- Supporting adults with communication barriers, and complex behaviour challenges, including aggression
- Create and maintain support plans
- Coach staff to understand and implement the principles of personcentred thinking and doing
- Coach staff on implementing goals and measuring progress
- Work collaboratively with staff, families, people supported, professionals and community members
- Manage a staff team which includes training and evaluating staff performance, as well as ensuring a positive workplace dynamic
- Budget, schedule, and organize the home
- The values and ability to respond to behaviour as communication is essential
- Confidence carrying out behaviour interventions, including strategies outlined in Safety Plans
Qualifications:
Comfortable working and responding during stressful and crisis situation
Knowledge of positive behaviour supports and person-centred service practices is an asset
Experience supporting people with autism and/or complex support plans
3-5 years in direct support in Community Living
Previous experience in a supervisory position
Bachelors degree, or Diploma in Human Services or related field. An equivalent of education and experience will be considered
Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and use of personal vehicle required
NCI Training
This position requires First Aid, TB screen/ self-assessment, Vaccination status disclosure including COVID-19 Vaccination
