Job Summary:

As a French Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing students' French skills by working within classrooms or smaller groups.

The primary responsibility involves promoting, supporting, and engaging students identified as struggling readers or writers in the French language. Additionally, there may be opportunities to support French numeracy skills based on the specific needs of the students.


Duties and Responsibilities:

• Literacy Promotion and Support:_
• Implement strategies to promote literacy skills, focusing on reading and writing.
• Provide oneonone or small group sessions to offer personalized literacy support.
• Classroom Integration:_
• Student Assessment:_
• Participate in the assessment of students to identify those struggling with French literacy skills.
• Document student progress
• Establishes positive relationships with students
• Numeracy Support (as applicable):_
• Offer support for French numeracy skills to complement overall academic development.
• Collaboration and Communication:_
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to create a supportive learning environment for French.
• Communicate regularly with teachers to provide updates on student progress.
• Oversee and implement programming developed by the schoolbased team

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:

• Qualifications:_
• Fluent in French with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in supporting students with literacy challenges.
• External applicants, upon hire, must supply a Criminal Record Search, and a cleared Child Abuse Registry check
• Skills and abilities:_
• Knowledge of literacy development and experience with organizing cooperative/low organized games would be an asset
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
