    Customer Business Manager

    The Customer Business Manager will lead customer-focused plans and initiatives and partner cross-functionally to develop & execute strategic selling solutions in order to achieve sales, market share and profit objectives. Building strong customer relationships at top-tier accounts to drive mutually beneficial business opportunities. The role combines management of the traditional bricks and mortar retail as well as the development/support of ecommerce.

    What you will do:

  • Demonstrates leadership and strategic partnership with Customer through category leadership, consumer and shopper insight and marketing understand to steer and grow business together
  • Manages budgets, including trade allocation, promotional funds and display
  • Partners on forecasting to analyze volume for sales and displays while planning corresponding budget long-term (Monthly meeting, Informer Inputs, Exceedra Update)
  • Utilizes strategic selling and negotiation skills to maximize sales growth, promotional effectiveness and long-term partnership
  • Manages communication, prioritization, and information flow with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Product Supply, Finance, Replenishment, and Analytics/Insights, while facilitating the sharing of best practices
  • Develop, Execute, Track and continuously adjust retailer specific business plans to achieve BCH and customer objectives
  • Customer Facing:

  • Ongoing category director & merchant meetings to share consumption and category trends, Planogram recommendations and identify opportunities to win between BCH and customer
  • Constant communication and touch points to support the day the day workings of the business
  • Execution and implementation of Price changes
  • Managing disruptions & conflict with spec changes, errors, allocations, bonus packs, allocation, exiting SKUs, discos
  • Annual Planning Meeting, Presenting New Product Launches and key brand activations
  • Joint Business Plans, Top-Top Executive Presentations, negotiation/tracking of customer specific agreements (Preferred & Exclusive Vendor Agreements)
  • Promotional tracking and management: displays, flyers, shopper marketing programs, Trade Promotional Manager (TPA analysis) and retailer loyalty programs
  • Inventory Management:

  • Weekly Replenishment Connects, Weekly connects with buyer helping to manage inventory (Back Order Mitigation & Reporting, Centre of customer service/voice of customer on operational/order flow details
  • Other: Retail Store checks, Sample submissions, General Travel (limited ie. 5-10% of time)
  • Who you are:

  • Minimum of BA degree or equivalent education
  • Minimum of 5 years of category experience
  • Cross-functional experience with different business units is preferred
  • Ability to: self-start and show leadership, think strategically and prioritize team goals with short and long-term planning, manage and distribute budget and resources effectively, effectively resolve competing priorities for the team relating to products, customers, and sales force, identify risks and business opportunities to support business plan objectives and to effectively communicate insights, influence key decision making at various levels at both company and customer
  • Comprehensive knowledge of consumer products industry, category, brand strategies, competitive products, and classes of trade
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation development and implementation skills
  • Strong negotiating skills within the company and the customer organization
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office applications, database sources, and web applications
