Global Banking and Markets


Global Banking & Markets provides a full range of investment banking, credit and risk management products and services relevant to the financing and strategic development needs of our clients.

Our products include debt and equity financing, mergers & acquisitions, corporate banking, institutional equity sales, trading and research, fixed income products, derivatives, energy, foreign exchange, and precious & metals.

Purpose

  • Ensure that Global Banking and Markets' short, mid, and long term business strategies and priorities assigned to GWO are understood and that Securities Clearing has systems, processes, controls, and infrastructure in place to support it. Working closely with the Manager and/or Sr. Manager, Settlement & Clearing the incumbent will provide Securities Clearing support ensuring business objectives are achieved.
  • Ensuring accuracy and process consistency is maintained in order to keep key controls at acceptable levels.
  • Living the performance culture in GBM through effective team support/management practices

Accountabilities

  • Ensure a high degree of operational efficiency, processing accuracy, and conformity to Bank regulations by:
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities for improvements in productivity, control, cost effectiveness, and user/customer relations;
  • Contributing to the resolution of operational problems ensuring appropriate action is taken to prevent recurrence.
  • Providing or participating in training sessions and seminars;
  • Contributing to the preparation of associated manuals, guides and procedures;
  • Ability to deal with daily issues/changes in retail and trading products as they impact Securities Clearing;
  • Understand securities markets, securities types and industry standards for custody, clearing and settlement.

Requirements:


  • The position requires a minimum of 2 years' experience in service to a complex operational unit with exposure to management or projects.
  • Exceptional communication, Interpersonal, time management and organizational skills are required for this role in conjunction with good people skills.

Working Conditions
The global securities industry is complex and changes rapidly.

The incumbent may face stressful situations due to rapid change, immediate and complex business needs and multiple high priority issues.

Due to the Global nature of this area, some statutory holidays will be required to be worked, with appropriate compensation.
