Refrigeration / H.V.A.C. Service Technician

With over 50 employees and 24 years of experience we provide an essential service to the largest Grocery chains and superstores in Ontario.


We are currently recruiting for the following positions:


  • Journeypersons & Apprentices (Levels Refrigeration / H.V.A.C. Service Technicians
The role(s) focuses primarily on the service of supermarket & commercial refrigeration, air conditioning and heating systems as well as all the underlying components and controls


Specifically, this includes:

Responsibilities:


  • Perform the service and repair of supermarket refrigeration systems.
  • Installation of air conditioning, heating, as well as related equipment and components.
  • Upon service request from client, can strategically troubleshoot and diagnose problematic refrigeration, air conditioning & heating systems.
  • Repairs, replaces and / or adjusts worn or faulty components within H.V.A.C. / R. equipment.
  • Complies with all internal and external requirements including but not limited to Ministry of the Environment, health & safety as well as fire protection.
  • Responds to routine and ondemand service requests and performs preventative as well as corrective maintenance activities on refrigeration, Co2 and H.V.A.C. systems.
  • Assists in the implementation of the preventative maintenance (P.M.) program. Ensures that deficiencies are identified, recorded and escalated, and that related documentations are maintained.
  • Ability to provide preventative and corrective maintenance inspections to ensure facility uptime and safety objectives are met, uninterrupted client operation and increase the equipment lifespan within the facility.
  • Maintains accurate inventory of all assigned tools / equipment and arranges for repair and replacement where required.
  • Submits all paperwork in an organized manner on a weekly basis.
  • The ability to use handheld device to communicate status of work, inventory used and hours worked.
  • Maintain a clean and stocked service vehicle.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:


  • Strong ability to adhere and to properly execute processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance.
  • Possesses a strong environmental, health and safety mindset with the ability to perform work in a safe manner and also work with others.
  • Strong clientservice orientation along with a high sense of urgency.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Mentoring skills required to support lowerlevel technician's development.
  • Must be able and willing to work shifts, be available for oncall / standby and respond to emergency service calls as they arise.

Qualifications:


  • 313A License or apprentice Level 5 is required.
  • Gas Technician 2 certification is an asset.
  • Gas Technician 1 certification is also an asset.
  • O.D.P. License is an asset.
  • Valid Ontario "Full G" driver's license.
  • Honesty and Integrity are essential qualities in our mechanics.
