S&OP - Demand & Production Planner

SCOPE OF THE POSITION
This critical role will report directly to the Manager S&OP Planning.

The focus of the Production Scheduler is to support the Supply Chain S&OP team by building a long-range forecast (rolling) and executing the approved forecast into the short-term production schedule.

Optimizing equipment efficiency and taking customer needs, asset and material constraints into consideration.

This role will coordinate with our diverse customer base in North America and cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Quality, Product Development and Finance.


THE MANDATE:


  • Work with all relevant stakeholders including Customer, Sales, Operations, and Material Planning to deliver a rolling 16week Master Production Schedule (MPS) that is feasible within all demand, capacity, and material constraints. Key objective will be to achieve/improve/exceed targeted customer service levels, production attainment, capacity utilization and conformance to Customer work order.
  • Maintain a rolling 2week locked finite schedule by collaborating with Material Planning, Operations, and Warehousing. Correctly sequence and assign routes to all production runs. Collaborate crossfunctionally on the management of Bill of Material changes.
  • Review forecasts with Sales/Customers to understand demand drivers such as consumption trends, promotional lifts, inventory position to provide inputs to the monthly Sales and Operations Planning process. Highlight deviations from forecasted volume and investigate rootcauses.
  • Support the introduction of new products by scheduling trials and first production runs as well as coordinating with Customers on rampup strategies.
  • Work crossfunctionally with Customer, Sales, and Material Planning on SKU discontinuations, transitions, and Customer exit plans in order to minimize risk and inventory liability of Skjodt-Barrett Foods.
  • Report weekly production attainments to Customers. Instigate rootcauses of underattainments, adjust future production plans, and communicate corrective actions to customers.
  • Distribute updated MPS to Customers weekly and communicate any risk that may impact future service levels.
  • Effectively lead and contribute to various crossfunctional meetings with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support Skjodt-Barrett Food's digitization strategy by continuously identifying ways to leverage Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power BI, and Data Lakes for planning, reporting, and executing Supply Chain plans.
  • Identify process wastes within demand/production planning and propose improvement steps.
  • Support the growth of the S&OP Planning team by knowledgesharing and coaching team members on planning best practices and TQM tools. There is a strong focus on driving results and continuous development to constantly increase the potential of the person and the team in a very collaborative culture.

THE CANDIDATE:


  • University or college degree in a relevant discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years related supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) logic and the ability to interpret Planned Orders generated by the ERP.
  • Basic understanding of relational databases, Power Query, and Power BI.
  • Relevant experience with Consumer Packaged Goods or Foods industry
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Excellent problemsolving skills
  • Skilled at leading effective meetings.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations including statistics.
  • Ability to work well in a teamoriented environment.
  • Results oriented with good planning, organizational and timemanagement skills.
  • Handles multiple tasks in a fastpaced deadline driven environment.
  • Proficient with ERP Systems (Microsoft DAX, SAP, Oracle) and advanced skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), statistical software.
  • Preference to APICS, cSCMP or CSCP designations or completion of certification is in process
