    Job title: Animal Welfare Officer

    Description

    We are seeking a skilled professional to fill an exciting opportunity as Animal Welfare Specialist.

    About the Position:


    This role involves responding to concerns and complaints of animal cruelty within a designated geographic area, conducting investigations in accordance with federal, provincial, and municipal legislation.



    • Conduct or cause to be conducted thorough investigations into animal cruelty complaints.

    • Respond promptly to situations utilizing knowledge of animal behavior, handling techniques, and proper use of rescue equipment.

    • Take necessary precautions for personal and public safety while ensuring that all actions taken are documented accurately.

    • Determine if an animal is in critical distress and take action necessary under relevant laws to alleviate its suffering.



    Necessary Qualifications:


    person should have post-secondary education in a related field. A combination of education and experience is also acceptable.
    person should hold valid Class N or 5 BC Drivers' License
      • Must be at least 19 years old
      • Have completed Justice Institute courses such as Introduction To Investigative Skills And Processes - INVE1002
