Eaton's ESSG CA Canada division is currently seeking a Field Service Technician Intern.


What you'll do:


Primary Function:


This position is responsible for servicing uninterruptible power supplies and batteries and other company electronic-based products in a high voltage environment at the customer's site.


Essential Functions:


  • Assist in creating detailed and quality reports to customers covering the scope of work performed.
  • Follow required safety practices.
  • Manage paperwork and office procedures, as required.
  • Assist the team in performing emergency and preventive maintenance and installation on a 24/7 oncall basis with regional responsibility.
  • Responsible for performing onsite or inhouse servicing and repair of company products.
  • Provide technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment and serve as the customer contact on technical and servicerelated problems.
  • Proficiency in the following:
  • Test Equipment Operation.
  • Troubleshooting Techniques.
  • Be willing and available to work evenings and weekends, as required by our customers.
  • Perform all job functions with adherence to Eaton's Philosophy and Values, as well as Safety and Environmental standards.
  • Perform other duties, as required

Qualifications:


Basic Qualifications:


  • Currently enrolled in a Co-Op Program in Electrical Engineering or completed an Electrical Engineering Technology program
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship
  • This position does not offer relocation
  • Valid driver's license required

Preferred Qualifications:

years of experience in manufacturing electrical controls and/or power distribution products

  • Good understanding of single phase and threephase circuit theory, analog and digital electronic circuit theory and microprocessor controls and programming.
  • Basic understanding of UPS between KVA, 100 KVA and below.
  • Basic understanding of electrical distribution systems and schemes.
  • Ability to read and utilize drawings, handbook formulas and a variety of precision diagnostic instruments.

Skills:


  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Strong analytic skills using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Good attitude and work ethic
