Global Security Operations Centre (GSOC) Analyst - Intelligence

Pay Rate:
$22.65-$25.00/hour (84 Hours Bi-Weekly)


Reports to:
GSOC Team Lead


Supervises:
Nil.

The Global Security Operations Centre (GSOC) is a critical part of our client's global security program.

The GSOC is responsible for supporting a variety of work streams including physical security, security technology, emergency management, executive protection, security intelligence, and facilities (just to name a few).

More importantly, the GSOC ensures that our client's people and physical assets are supported 24/7/365.

We solve problems, protect assets, and get information to where it needs to go, when it needs to get there.


Job Description:


The GSOC Analyst uses various tools and systems to conduct monitoring of Global Events, Open Source Intelligence (OSINT), and social media platforms.

Where warranted, the GSOC Analyst will conduct in-depth and context-based research to identify, escalate, and report on events and/or other entities that represent a potential threat to the client's security, personnel, business operations, or reputation.


When required, the GSOC Analyst will support the collection, verification, and processing of information to support the client's Protective Intelligence and Executive Protection teams.


The GSOC Analyst will also support the Travel Security, Threat Management, and Executive Travel programs as required by functioning as a watch officer and assisting with resolving issues.


In a regular day, the GSOC Analyst will:

  • Utilize technical systems and established processes to monitor, assess, and respond to Open Source Intelligence threats and risks following a defined matrix (and know when to throw the book out the window)
  • Utilize technical systems and established processes to monitor and respond to realworld events ranging from natural disasters (e.g. tornadoes, volcanic events, wildfires, etc.) to geopolitical events (e.g. terrorism, hostile acts, riots, etc.) following a defined matrix (and know when to throw the book out the window).
  • Receive information from internal and external stakeholders and document the information following established best practices.
  • Conduct research into ongoing or evolving events of concern as required.
  • Prepare detailed reports on evolving events and threatactors to empower Situational Awareness within the Global Security organization.
  • Function as a "Watch Officer", escalating events to a crisis response team as required and proactively preparing detailed timelines of events that may occur across shifts over a span of
days, weeks, and/or months.

  • Initiate and support internal and external investigations requiring a high degree of confidentiality and secrecy.
  • Support the execution of executive travel and executive protection tasks.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure information on ongoing events are carried over between shifts.
  • Support and assist to coordinate responses during an emergency impacting the business
  • Support Travel Security and Safety programs
  • Backup of GSOC Operator (Physical Security) duties when required.
  • Complete work in alignment with Standard Operating Procedures and Best Practices
  • Complete other duties and special projects as assigned
**THIS IS A 24/7 POSITION THAT REQUIRES SHIFT WORK AND AN AVERAGE OF 84 HOURS BI-WEEKLY.

Depending on the requirements of the client, the GSOC Analyst may be required to deviate from this rotation for the purposes of training, attending meetings, and other business needs.


Formal Education, Experience, and Licenses Required:

  • 1-2 Years of relevant experience working in a 24/7 Operations centre or intelligence environment is an asset.
  • Bachelor's degree or advanced college diploma in a related discipline would be a significant asset.
