Terms of Employment:
Full-time, Monday - Friday (9 am -5 pm)


Location: 155 Bermondsey Road, Toronto ON. Habitat GTA currently deploys a hybrid working environment, asking staff to come onsite once (1) per week at minimum.

The Opportunity


As a Videographer, you will leverage your creative skills and technical expertise to produce compelling video content that engages our audiences, drives support for our cause and raises awareness about Habitat for Humanity GTA's leading role in and impact on addressing the housing affordability crisis, and help attract customers, donors and volunteers for our Habitat ReStore operations.


Your Impact

  • Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to conceptualize, plan, and execute video projects that align with our organization's mission and brand identity and showcase the real impact Habitat for Humanity GTA and Habitat ReStore make in helping to build a better GTA.
  • Film and capture footage of various events, initiatives, and projects, including builds, community activities, volunteer engagements, donor appreciation events, family stories and of our government and developer partners.
  • Edit and produce video content to create compelling stories that evoke emotions and effectively communicate our impact and values.
  • Edit and produce video content for a variety of purposes and distinct audiences including social media, television and internal use.
  • Ensure video content is of high quality, visually appealing, grabs the attention of viewers and aligns with our brand guidelines and messaging.
  • Utilize creative techniques, such as storytelling, visual effects, and audio enhancement, to enhance the overall quality and impact of video content.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to understand their video needs and provide creative solutions that align with their specific goals and objectives.
  • Attend key events and prioritize capturing content organizationwide.
  • Maintain and organize video equipment, ensuring that all gear is in proper working condition and readily available for shooting.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging video technologies, and best practices to continuously improve video production quality and effectiveness.
  • Comply with copyright and licensing requirements for all video content and secure necessary permissions when using thirdparty materials.
  • Manage video content libraries and archives, ensuring easy access and retrieval of video assets for future use.
  • Experience in live streaming events on YouTube and social media an asset.
  • Ability to provide guidance on best AODA practices an asset.

What You Bring

  • Ability to record and capture video, audio and photos using professional equipment.
  • Ability to mix, edit and produce video of a professional grade for a variety of audiences and digital channels.
  • Ability to identify a client's needs and suggest the right tone and produce the right video and/or photo.
  • Knowledge of best practices for lighting, posing and the best way to shoot on a variety of indoor and outdoor locations, including construction sites and offices.
  • Knowledge of emerging trends on social media and understanding of the best way to customize content for specific audiences and platforms.
  • Confidence in coaching others, from individuals to groups on how to pose, speak and participate in video and photography shoots.
  • Experience with the Adobe Video Editing Suite, including Premiere Pro and After Effects.
  • Experience with Photoshop for improving photos.
