We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time position as a
Bilingual
Policy Analyst. This position will be required to work in a hybrid work arrangement (at home and in the Ottawa office)
.
As a Policy Analyst, you would help develop and advance policies for the benefit of small businesses and the Canadian economy.
You would also get to work closely with colleagues - both locally and across the country - to build upon synergies and learn from one another.

Reporting to the Director of National Affairs, you will research and analyze public policies impacting CFIB members and you will share this work with different audiences.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative research and analysis on public policy issues of relevance to small business.
- Prepare written communications—letters, briefs, reports, presentations—reflecting research results and CFIB position.
- Assist in lobbying at government and external meetings.
- Keep up to date with pertinent legislation, economic trends and developments in government policy and determine relevancy to CFIB's policy direction.
- Assist with responding to inquiries from small business owners.
- Work in collaboration with other colleagues to develop and contribute to the development of internal and external communication to CFIB members.
- Performs other workrelated duties as assigned.
What makes a successful Bilingual
Policy Analyst?
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English.
- University degree in political science, economics, public policy, business administration or equivalent.
- At least one (1) year of experience in a public policy, research, economic or legislative environment.
- Strong analytical and research skills to help shape the Legislative Affairs agenda at CFIB.
- Proven ability to write public policy documents.
- Interest in government relations/politics/public policy and developing an understanding of the small business sector.
- Commitment to accuracy and thoroughness.
- Expertise in word processing, spreadsheets, and graphic packages.
- Work well interdependently in a collaborative environment with cross functional colleagues.
- Work effectively to meet tight and shifting deadlines.
- Important to be proactive, a selfstarter and an effective selfmanager.
