    Looking for a new and exciting job opportunity? We are looking for a Senior Technical Advisor to join our team

    What You Will Do

    • You will provide engineering and technical support for light rail vehicles to the assigned maintenance/overhaul facility. You will also develop, conduct and enhance cost-effective maintenance policies, vehicle reliability programs and quality assurance activities, and work with assigned technical staff to ensure work is performed correctly and according to schedule.
    • You will monitor performance and conduct analysis of fleet, vehicle, components and equipment, new procedures to identify issues and determine corrective action.
    • You will develop and manage projects and programs to address vehicle maintenance, performance and rebuild issues, including sub-system and component overhaul issues, as they arise at the assigned maintenance/overhaul facility.
    • You will manage and provide technical direction and guidance to staff.
    • You will participate in continuous improvement efforts and initiatives.
    • You will work with car houses, external departments, vendors and other stakeholders to develop innovative approaches and solutions with positive outcomes and overcome obstacles in a collaborative manner.
    • You will identify staff training needs, collaborate to develop/update materials, manuals, documentation, practices, and procedures, and make available to appropriate parties through training or administering documentation as required.
    • You will participate in the preparation and review of new transit equipment specifications, including facility and new vehicle interface.

    What Qualifications Do You Bring

    • Your educational background will consist of a university degree or college diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technology, or related discipline, or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
    • Your application will reveal technical knowledge, design and manufacturing processes utilized in large fleet maintenance management with an emphasis on RCM concepts as a desired asset.
    • Your application must indicate demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of, and ability to, diagnose and correct failures in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components as they are used in revenue rail vehicles and equipment.
    • Your application will reveal sound judgement supported by well-developed analytical, problem-solving, costing and technical report writing skills.
    • You must be proficient in the use of computers with knowledge of, or the ability to quickly learn, work-related applications and systems.
    • Your application will reveal knowledge of project management concepts and practices and vehicle testing procedures/programs.
    • You must have the ability to motivate and work in a team environment, and to coordinate the efforts of others to accomplish objectives.
