    We currently have a great opportunity for aProcess & Design Engineering Student. This role is based in our Etobicoke office.

    As a Process & Design Co-op Student, you will work closely with our team to design small parts, contribute to small-scale capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects, and facilitate communication with vendors. This role offers hands-on experience in mechanical engineering principles and project management within a dynamic and collaborative environment.

    PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Part Design Collaborate with personnel to design and develop small parts for various projects using CAD software.
  • Project Support: Assist in the execution of small-scale CAPEX projects, including conducting feasibility studies, preparing project plans, and supporting project implementation.
  • Vendor Communication: Serve as a liaison between the company and external vendors, coordinating procurement activities, acquiring quotes, and ensuring timely delivery of materials and components.
  • Conduct testing and analysis of prototypes and components to validate design concepts and performance requirements.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of design iterations, project progress, and vendor communications to support project documentation and reporting.
  • Continuous Improvement: Find opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization in part design, procurement, and project execution.
  • multi-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with teams, including engineering, procurement, and production, to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.
  • KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Currently pursuing a degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Excellent communication and social skills.
  • Ability to work optimally in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues across departments.
  • Diligent with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Prior internship or co-op experience in a mechanical engineering role is a plus.
  • Familiarity with project management principles and tools is preferred.

  • Designing parts, and providing out-of-box solutions to a variety of issues.
