We're building our Learning and Development team and looking for a _
Learning & Development Specialist_.


Reporting to the Learning and Development Manager, you'll partner across HR and Plant Operations to develop a standardized operational learning approach across multiple sites, build learning plans for our hourly roles, and design and develop the training.


What You Will Get to Do:

  • Partner with Plant Leaders, Health and Safety, HRBPs and SMEs, to plan, design, develop, implement, and evaluate high quality standardized operational plant training plans, training, and processes to support new hire, annual policy and training refreshers, new line/new equipment training and supervisor skills training
  • Develop trainthetrainer processes and plant training sustainment and refresher recommendations
  • Facilitate and monitor the SOP documentation process at plants; oversee the SOP Development Tracker at plant sites
  • Develop creative and engaging learning content which may include participant guides, job aids, PowerPoint decks, interactive videos, eLearning courses, etc.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of learning program design and delivery related to processes, tools, technologies, and learning analytics Support Learning Management System (LMS) administration for all Give and Go users
  • Leverage the LMS to meet the organization's needs which may include responsibilities such as setting up courses, creating learning paths, running reports, analyzing data, managing rosters, and maximizing the effective use of all aspects of LMS functionality

Recipe for Success:


  • You're an experienced instructional designer, learning designer and/or technical communicator who has a passion for front line/operational environments and a knack for breaking things down into clear and easy to follow processes.
  • You love the idea of going onto the plant floor, meeting our employees, learning about operations and the manufacturing processes, and being surrounded by the sweet smell of bakery treats.
  • You're a strong problem solver and already have some ideas for how you would approach standardizing learning across multiple plants and roles, and then building it out.
  • You're experienced at assessing needs, and designing simple and clear processes, and training. In other words, if you're the type of learning designer who sees a 50page singlespaced training guide and not only feels outrage, but immediately knows what you'd do to build a better learning experience, then we want to hear from you
  • Would be great if you knew your way around an LMS or LXP, or other learning platforms used to support operational/frontline training, assessment, and sustainment.
  • You're serviceoriented and enjoy making a positive impact on an employee's learning experience by providing that daytoday LMS user support
  • College or University degree preferred with education in adult learning, technical communication, organizational development, or human resources

A Few Extra Ingredients:


  • CTDP or Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP)
  • Experience creating media clips and visuals to simplify detailed concepts/steps
  • Technical writing and/or process mapping/business analysis experience an asset
