Position Summary


As part of Digital at University Health Network (UHN), the Data Aggregation, Translation and Architecture (DATA) Team specializes in the use of machine learning and cutting-edge software development to help clinicians and scientists streamline clinical workflows and research, enabling faster and better treatments through the use of computational and statistical methods.


Are you collaborative, analytical and passionate about technology in the healthcare industry? The DATA Team is currently recruiting a Project Manager who will ensure that all projects run efficiently and effectively.

You will play an integral part within the team, supporting multiple projects.


Duties

  • Project coordination for the software development and machine learning teams within the group,
  • Acting as a scrum master to keep projects on schedule and helping to plan future development efforts
  • The Project Manager will be the primary point of contact between clients and the technical teams and will liaise with across various UHN stakeholders to ensure that projects follow UHN policies
  • Consult with internal and external groups to gather requirements for projects and work with technical leads to translate into user stories and specifications.
  • Act as a scrum master for multiple software development teams; planning future sprints and development priorities while working with the Product Owner.
  • Develop project plans and timelines alongside the software development manager.
  • Work with project sponsors, and other key stakeholders to prioritize and scope project initiatives, tasks, and timelines with the goal of optimizing achievement of project deliverables.
  • Collaborate with project sponsors ensuring that requirements, risks, potential obstacles and outcomes are clearly understood and incorporated into the project plan.
  • Manage client and stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle to ensure positive tracking against project milestones and financial metrics, ensuring the project will be completed on time and within budget, including effective communication and issue resolution.
  • Produce and update SOWs/contracts for services rendered.
  • Work with REB, privacy and security groups as required to ensure documentation is provided and institutional requirements are met.
  • Identify funding opportunities, seek new sources, investigate eligibility, and inform scientific community of opportunities; perform financial responsibilities such as defining project costs and monitoring budget activity as needed.
  • Remain current on provincial, federal and private funding environment, programs and guidelines, and provide interpretation to scientists, colleagues and management.
  • Support ad hoc duties and/or projects as requested to contribute to the efficient functioning of the UHN DATA Team.

Qualifications

  • At minimum, Undergraduate Degree required in Science or recognized equivalent.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation, Certified Scrum Master and Change Management Certification are assets.
  • 25 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated project management skills which contribute to the team's project, operational or strategic goals/initiatives.
  • Excellent ability to anticipate and analyze risks and issues, explore alternatives, develop appropriate recommendations with project, clinical and technical teams and present issues to senior leadership.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects, prioritize multiple conflicting priorities.
  • Proven ability to adapt and think strategically in a fastpaced, dynamic environment.
  • Superior communication skills including effective interpersonal, presentation and writing
