  • Position at DNEG_
The Crowd Technical Supervisor provides technical leadership and hands-on solutions for the global Crowd team.

They will contribute to global department tooling and methodology, help test and implement new technology solutions, and assist in troubleshooting or contributing to technically challenging show work.

They interface, collaborate with, and support multiple stakeholders both outside and within the department.


Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Crowd supervisors and artists to push creative and technical boundaries in our crowd methodologies and tools.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of artistfacing tooling.
  • Help define and enforce standardization in workflow, output, and development best practices across the global Crowd team.
  • Collaborate with software development teams on the specification, testing, and rollout of new technology.
  • Represent the needs of the Crowd team in crossdiscipline methodology, pipeline, and R&D planning conversations.
  • Oversee artists' work when they are assigned to department development tasks.

Must Have:


  • High level of proficiency in all technical areas of crowd pipeline technology
  • Excellent python scripting skills, adherence to coding standards, familiarity with git and active engagement in code reviews.
  • Experience with VFX pipeline architecture and problemsolving.
  • A strong drive for optimization and efficiency while empowering artists.
  • Good selfmanagement and time management skills.
  • Good communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong team working skills, supportive and collaborative when under pressure.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience with Houdini.

Nice to Have:


  • Experience in Maya
  • Experience in C++
  • Experience in Unreal
  • Experience in Rigging, Animation, Layout, and CFX
  • Experience in Feature Animation, TV or Games will also be taken into account
