Responsibilities
- Successfully complete and maintain a Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW) designation.
- Lead/participate in pre-job briefings and post-job debriefings on radiological and conventional safety aspects.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, permits licence requirements procedures ensure proper functional personal protective equipment dose monitoring devices communication equipment provide radiation protection services internal external staff qualified self-protection review hazards conduct surveys confirm hazard levels radiation exposure permit limits respond personnel contamination events perform decontamination activities routine radiation surveys document findings regulatory requirements radiation safety program operational updated surveys site requirements procedures perform sorting segregation low-level nuclear non-nuclear by-products reduce overall volume material utilizing strict procedural adherence materials manually manipulated necessitates proper body mechanics ergonomic lifting techniques tooling assist process physically demanding place barriers post-hazard warning required location material processed evaluate survey results identify areas hazard controls adjusted additional radiation protection measures ensure proper radiation contamination controls completed post-job requirements housekeeping documentation reporting refer appropriate Manager resolution prepare process radioactive material shipment accountable health safety wellbeing technical operating procedures standards other duties required.
