    In Canada, CNOOC Petroleum North America has interest in more than 300,000 acres in the Athabasca region – one of the largest deposits of Canadian oil reserves, where we use technologically advanced production processes such as Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD).

    Our Long Lake facility, located in northern Alberta just south of Fort McMurray, began producing in 2008 and is a SAGD-only operation for the interim, with production capacity of around 72,000 barrels of bitumen a day.

    In this role, you will participate in our 14x14 Day shift schedule which requires you to work fourteen 12-hour day shifts (7am – 7pm) , followed by fourteen days off .

    We offer free parking at our site or if you'd like us to take the wheel, you can use our daily bus service to/from Fort McMurray.

    therefore the option of camp-in, camp-out or location allowance is provided .

    This dynamic role will be instrumental in driving the safety of our day-to-day operations and the overall performance of our facility.

    Electrical Technology Diploma or Inter-Provincial Power Systems Electrician Journeyman status.
    ~Must have a valid Alberta operator's license (minimum class 5).
    ~ Alberta or Interprovincial Electrical certification.
    ~ Advanced knowledge of electrical equipment and associated systems.
    ~ Install and maintain electrical systems, including transformers, generators, switchgear, switches, circuit breakers, capacitors, and protection relays for 480V-144kV systems.
    Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues in power distribution systems.

    Perform preventive maintenance and testing on substation equipment including power lines to ensure the reliability and safety of electrical equipment.

    Complete electrical switching and isolation to ensure safe work for employees and equipment.
    Collaborate with engineering teams to implement system upgrades and modifications.
    Read and interpret electrical drawings (SLD's, P&ID's, Isometrics, schematics, etc.).
    Ensure adherence to Control of Work and Management of Change processes.
    Respond promptly to emergency calls for electrical repairs.
