As we continue to expand and deepen our commitment to the healthcare sector in Canada, we are seeking a highly experienced, innovative and strategic leader to join our executive team as our National Vice President of Operations.


SUMMARY


As our National VP of Operations, you will play an integral role in developing, shaping, and ensuring the effective execution of the operational strategy for Stevens.

You will provide your experienced insights, leadership, direction and oversight to our national operations team, ensuring that our business operations are optimized, future proofed and run effectively and efficiently daily.

This role is essential to maintain and enhance our competitive identity and ensure the critical products and services we sell are delivered most effectively.


This position is responsible for the successful operation and continuous improvement of our distribution centers, purchasing, logistics, materials management and distribution functions nationally as well as various administrative tasks.

The VP Operations will be responsible for establishing budgets, setting goals and performance targets while building a strong team focussed on long-term customer and vendor relationships.

This position will help shape the development and execution of strategies and initiatives for driving overall margin and supporting sales growth with excellence in operational performance in line with the company's vision, values, plans and financial objectives.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide strategic leadership and management of the operational and fiscal activities within Operations via the Directors and Managers responsible for such within each division / region. Areas include operation, staffing levels, budgets, building maintenance, security, financial goals, regulatory affairs, import/export function, database management and the complete supply chain sourcing, purchasing, logistics and distribution, including strategies related to all the above.
  • Establish planning and metrics to ensure operational excellence in all distribution centers.
  • Lead operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing programs and operational and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Assert, prioritize and protect our value proposition of superior customer experience by consistently providing reliable and timely service delivery.
  • Lead and coach divisional Operations Directors and Managers, as well as collaborate with Sales and other business leaders, to meet divisional productivity and quality goals.
  • Coach and develop team, including career development, performance metrics and training goals.
  • Ensure our operational infrastructure aligns with the growth goals and initiatives of the organization.
  • Frequently evaluate and analyze business productivity and performance within all divisions.
  • As a key member of the Executive Committee, contribute to strategy formulation and execution, providing updates on progress. Offer insights and guidance on divisional operations, actions, and issues within each division

Operations Administration

Working with divisional Operations Directors and Managers:

  • Oversee daily business operations to achieve optimum efficiency, flagging and addressing anomalies and issues as and when they arise.
  • Ensure smooth operation of branch facilities, including liaising with facility landlords
  • Analyze Operations financial data and work to maximize revenue/margin and reduce costs across all divisions.
  • Assist in resolving complex or outofpolicy operation problems.
  • Develop and maintain a compliance and quality assurance infrastructure. Ensure all operational activities comply with regulatory standards, industry best practices and company policies.

Supply Chain Management

  • Oversee purchasing and optimize inventory levels, ensuring alignment with customer demands and maximizing the company's investment efficiency. Track and analyze key supply chain metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key product vendors to foster collaboration and drive mutual success.
  • Develop and implement policies and programs aimed at enhancing the competitive position and profitability of the business, with a focus on measurable outcomes and performance metrics.
