FSB is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to lead our Accounting Team.

This is a great opportunity if you have a solid knowledge of accounting principles, are comfortable doing a variety of general accounting transactions and are looking to lead a team.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide general bookkeeping
  • Prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
  • Complete month end closing and assist our third party accountant with yearend
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable, invoicing and payments
  • Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings, and statements
  • Manage the Accounting Team including approving time off, crosstraining and ensuring that departmental work gets done correctly and on time
  • Investigate any discrepancies, correct incorrect entries etc.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong understanding of accounting principals
  • Minimum 24 years' experience in a bookkeeping role, preferably in a Team Lead or managerial role
  • Must be competent with MS Office, Excel, databases, and accounting software
  • Insurance Brokerage background and Power Broker an asset.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial files
