We are currently looking for an Enterprise Cyber Security Initiatives Team Lead in a Temporary (Term) position (current estimated closure date 01 June Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Cyber Security Initiatives, you will be responsible for coordinating the priorities and activities of a team dedicated to the broad deployment of cyber security capabilities across the enterprise (all Emera Canadian affiliates).


We offer hybrid work opportunities, to be discussed with your leader, however you are required to live in or be willing to relocate Nova Scotia for this role.**Key elements of this role include:As a team lead you have the ability to build and maintain credibility with all business partners. As well, you interact well with all functional groups to ensure cyber security initiatives are understood and completed appropriately. Essentially, you must be able to function effectively under time constraints, whilst overseeing and leading people to deliver several complex pieces of work simultaneously.


In this role you will supervise a cross-functional team of Cyber Security technical and business support specialists, in a dynamic and high-demand environment heavily tied to deadlines and risk reduction and have accountability for the performance and results of the Cyber Security Initiatives team.


Responsibilities typically comprise of the following:

  • Setting goals and objectives for team members for achievement of operational results.
  • Ensures policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports, customers and stakeholders.
  • Interacting with 3rd party managed service providers who deliver daytoday support of core cyber security operational services to drive superior security results for the organization.
  • Leverage experience, critical thinking, and analytical skills to find inventive and effective solutions to security problems. Articulate information and security concepts to nontechnical employees clearly while accurately portraying risks and threats to the company. Problems faced may be difficult but typically are not complex.
  • Ensure operational support for newly onboarded security capabilities is understood and incorporated smoothly into security operational processes.
  • Assist in the development of threat/risk metrics, security processes, and operational procedures.
  • Escalating risks and impediments and ensuring operational readiness so that maximum business value can be realized as early as possible.

These skills will make you successful:

A strong desire to learn, recommend, and support new technologies that can be adopted to enhance the Cyber Security profile of the Emera Canadian companies is critical for this role.

Although you are most known for your proven ability to effectively deliver business change through technology, your strong influencing, persuasion, and facilitation skills are also your key strengths.

A solid understanding of project management methodologies is preferred.

You must also be comfortable working in a collaborative environment and leading a team of professionals in their development, workload management, coaching and performance evaluation.


You hold a bachelor's degree in business, computer science, information security, engineering or other related discipline, and a minimum of 5 years of experience in an Information Technology related field.

Industry recognized certification(s) in information technology risk and security are considered an asset.
