Heavy Equipment Technician Job Description:
# Perform inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of truck and trailer combinations.
# Diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues.
# Perform preventative, planned, and unplanned maintenance, repair, overhaul, troubleshoot, and test mechanical and electronic equipment according to company standards.
# Complete maintenance records and documentations as required.
# Work in a shop setting when not in the field.
# Participate as a vital team member and contribute towards the success of the organization.
# Perform duties in a safe, timely, and cost-efficient manner.
# Other duties as required.

The successful applicant

MUST HAVE :
Alberta HET (Heavy Equipment Technician) certification or minimum 4th-year apprentice or out-of-province HET certification with Interprovincial Red Seal.
Your own tools.
Basic welding knowledge and skills (welding certification is an asset).
Minimum Class 5 license with a clean abstract (valid Class 1 License is an asset).
Licensed CVIP certification or willing to apply.
Strong attention to detail.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Ability to multitask and shift priorities as required.
Requires a flexible work schedule, including overtime and weekend work during the construction season (May-November).
Great communication and interpersonal skills.
Be in good physical shape to work in physically demanding conditions.
