Your services may include:

psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).


Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 1 year experience within the last 3 years in Acute Care or Community Addiction and Mental Health programs. Authorized to perform Psychosocial Interventions with the ACSW. Working knowledge of the AB Mental Health Act and Community Treatment Order Legislation and other relevant legislation. Understanding of the DSM-5 with demonstrated knowledge of complex mental health diagnosis, symptomatology, verbal de-escalation, and treatment interventions. Experience in conducting psychiatric and psychosocial assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and group facilitation. Experience in various risk assessment i.e. Suicide risk, Homicidal risk, violent risk.


Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years of experience in an acute/community mental health setting. Familiarity of Harm Reduction Principles, Psychosocial Rehabilitation, Patient and Family Centered Care, and Recovery Oriented practice. Knowledge of the Calgary Zone mental health housing and community resources. Understanding of financial programs including AISH, CPP, Senior's benefits, Income support and other social services. Able to complete capacity assessments.
