Position Summary

Reporting to the Dean, School of Health, Negahneewin, and Community Services, the coordinator is responsible for providing academic leadership, and for facilitating a high quality educational experience for students.

The coordinator also provides leadership in the design and delivery of efficient and effective programs, courses, and placements.

The coordinator works with their programs' Academic Support officer, management, faculty, staff and students to ensure, and implement quality assurance policies and practices that integrate with curriculum.

Education

Minimum level of formal education required for the position
3 year diploma/degree or equivalent

Specific course(s), certification, qualification, formal training or accreditation required for the position

Additional Requirements

Excellent conflict resolution, negotiation, team building and interpersonal skills

Familiarity with computer software

Strong verbal and written communications skills

Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders

Strong customer service orientation

Ability to demonstrate leadership in an academic environment with a diverse student and staff population

Field(s) of Study

Diploma/degree in a related field (e.g. Community Services)

Experience

Typical number of years of experience, in addition to the necessary education level, required to perform the responsibilities of the position
Minimum of five (5) years

Type of Experience

Relevant teaching experience in the related program field is considered an asset.

Relevant work experience in the related program field, with emphasis on supervisory experience.
