This is a Providence Health Care (PHC) temporary, non-contract (union-excluded) appointment. All research positions are dependent on grant funding continuing to be available.

End Date:
December 31st, 2024, with the possibility of extension dependent on available
grant funding.

The Role
The Adult Eating Disorders Program Research Assistant position is responsible for helping with grant-funded research projects dedicated to exploring self-compassion in eating disorders; at the Provincial Adult Tertiary Specialized Eating Disorders (PATSED) Program.
In addition to conducting its own research, the Centre's other primary function is to offer methodological expertise to other researchers, including assistance with study design, statistics, health economics, data management, and grant facilitation for both health outcomes research and clinical trials.
The Centre consists of over 85 faculty members and staff and research personnel.Work Performed
- Meeting regularly with the research team to design and implement research studies
- Assisting with Research Ethics Board submissions
- Assisting with data collection and SPSS data entry
- Transcribing interviews
- Invoice processing and maintaining uptodate ledgers of funding and expenses
- Other administrative support duties as required
Minimum Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Psychology in progress or completed and a minimum of 1year experience in working in psychology research; OR any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Good interviewing skills and clinical judgment
- Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft and SPSS
- Excellent written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with reconciling financial expenses and invoicing
- Excellent attention to detail and proven ability to learn new skills
- Ability to understand written and verbal direction
Covid-19 Vaccine Mandate
This position is located within a healthcare facility.
Therefore, this position requires successful verification of full vaccination against Covid-19 provided prior to the start date, as required by the provincial health mandate.
