Support Staff Full-time Replacement Position (First consideration for Support Staff and Academic positions will be given to internal applicants in accordance with the respective Collective Agreements)


The Media Production/Support Specialist with oversight from the Manager, Events Media Production will facilitate the planning, production and execution of video content and in-person, online and hybrid events, as well as provide in-class and department level support.

Responsibilities will include representing Conestoga with content that brings consistency in messaging and brand approach, and supporting the corporate website and marketing direction of the college.

The incumbent will liaise with internal and external stakeholders as required to facilitate the production needs of events such as convocation, and streaming conferences.

The incumbent will also support work study students to help them improve their knowledge of production processes and technical skills.


Responsibilities:


  • Leading the creation, planning, and production of video content to support a consistent approach and brand of the college for the School of Creative Industries and small
- and large-scale college events under the direction of the Manager of Events Media Production

  • Contributing to content creation strategy by bringing solutions to planning meetings, brainstorming, and preproduction planning
  • Collaborating with others to create compelling and innovative stories
  • Producing professional quality content through the production, editing, and approval process ensuring completed product meets required standards and branding
  • Supporting the creation, planning and execution on small
- and large-scale events at the college under the direction of the Manager of Events Media Production and in consultation with internal and external stakeholders

  • Delivering inperson, online, and hybrid delivery events
  • Supporting location scouting, setup, technical rehearsals, event production, and postproduction related to events
  • Providing workstudy students with technical support and guidance to complete assigned projects, and supervising their contribution to the team at events in collaboration with the Manager, Events Media Production
  • Maintaining currency with industry equipment, processes, and standards
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Twoyear Diploma in Creative Arts; Fine/Applied Arts/Media, or Design
  • Minimum five years of experience in production and television broadcast industries, with advanced working knowledge of software, audio/video recording and post production
  • Proven ability to respect confidentially of work undertaken
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal skills, and professionalism
  • Confident, selfmotivated, and creative
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team to accomplish tasks and solve creative challenges
  • Organized with strong time management and planning skills
  • Able to analyze issues and problem solve
  • Current in industry standards, processes, equipment, and software technologies
  • Access to reliable transportation to travel to various campuses and site locations
