1 ‐ Full Time - Interprofessional Educator

Interprofessional Education
Reporting to the Director ‐ Academic & Interprofessional Education, the Inter‐Professional Educator (IPE) is

responsible and accountable for his/her own clinical practice and is responsible for Inter‐Professional education

across TBRHSC with staff and learners. TBRHSC is an academic health sciences centre that provides care within a

Patient and Family Centre model.

The IPE will lead inter‐professional education and collaborative care to enhance clinical practice across the

organization.

The scope of the IPE role encompasses the following domains:
Education, Clinical Practice,

Leadership, Collaboration/Consultation, Change‐Agent and Research. The IPE works within the conceptual

foundation of Patient and Family Centre Care and Inter‐Professional Practice. He/She acts as a role model, resource

person and change‐agent, providing leadership and guidance. The IPE helps to advance our standards of care by

assisting all clinical staff and learners to maintain their competence, manage their professional development and

practice in an inter‐professional collaborative care environment. Thus, helping all clinical staff and learners provide

safe, skilled and effective care to their patients, in accordance with their Professional Standards.


Qualifications:

  • Current registration with a College regulated under Ontario's RHPA
  • Baccalaureate Degree in health Related Discipline
  • Masters Degree in education or an equivalent level of experience
  • Minimum 5 years recent clinical experience in a Health Discipline. Preference will be given to clinicians with wide
Inter‐Professional experience

  • Demonstrated commitment to and experience with Inter‐Professional Education and Collaboration
  • Membership in professional associations is preferred
  • Excellent leadership and autonomy, with theoretical and practical experience in Inter‐professional education,
including Inter‐professional education program planning, development, delivery and evaluation

  • Knowledge/experience in principles of adult learning
  • Ability to work with different stakeholders and learner populations with effective facilitation and presentation skills;
flexible to teach in different learning environments using traditional, computer‐based, and simulation learning

  • Demonstrated ability to motivate staff and create an environment conducive to advancing Inter‐Professional
practice

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to network
effectively with other disciplines

  • Proven skills in coaching, evaluating the development of staff and providing feedback
  • Strong project management
  • Strong leadership, teambuilding, negotiation and conflict management skills
Excel, and Power Point are essential

  • Knowledge of data collection, use of databases, data analysis, and evaluation methodology
  • Knowledge of the philosophy and values of Patient and Family Centred Care with demonstrated ability to
incorporate into all aspects of practice, education and teamwork

  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
  • Instructor certificate in ACLS, PALS and/or TNCC desirable

Salary Range:
$42.483 to 49.98
