Job Overview:


Mech Manpower, we are staffing agency recruiting multiple
skilled and detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector positions for our Clients based out in Edmonton.


You will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards through fabricating, inspecting, and analyzing various components. This is a crucial role in maintaining our commitment to delivering exceptional products to our customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Two to five years of related welding experience.
  • CWB Level 1 or Level 2 welding inspector certification with prior welding experience
  • Intermediate knowledge of SPC/ GDT and weld callouts. Must be able to read blueprints and interpret engineering drawings in addition to GDT. Ability to read and understand company procedure manuals. Read the standards guide/manual to avoid production errors.
  • Exposure in conducting manufacturing audits. Exposure to machining and welding practices, experience with Metrology, SPC, knowledge of measuring techniques, gauging and inspection equipment. Must be able to use measuring equipment effectively, micrometers, Vernier's, height and bore gauges. May measure or weigh products to assess conformity to quality standards.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and determine reasons for errors in products. Use technical skills and knowledge to identify root cause of problem. Monitor operations to gather information in determining potential reasons for wastage. Make wastereducing recommendations to quality manager.
  • Interact with supervisor to coordinate work and exchange information during production and quality meetings. Interact with the production supervisor/manager to discuss product quality. Interact with operators to monitor progress and correct work that does not meet quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently, coordinating work with work of others (i.e. welders, operators, supervisors) as needed. Meet with production manager, quality manager and supervisors every day to discuss quality issues and resolve any related problems.
  • Maintain continuous learning in order to keep up with new developments in field.

Qualifications:


  • CWB Level
  • Level 2 considered an asset.
  • 2 years experience in NDE testing or welding inspections in a field or shop environment.
  • Welding Engineering Technology (WET) completion is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge in weldmapping.
  • Proficient in using software such as Microsoft office (Word, Excel), Adobe, to prepare reports.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and maintain a positive work attitude.
  • Ability to do physical work, work in tight spaces and working from heights.
  • Strong attention to detail required to provide thorough inspection observations
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and teamwork.
  • Participate in the Company's Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 12 months


Pay:
$25.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 50 per week
