Summary of Job Description
This position is located in Petawawa,Ontario


The Field Service Representative (FSR) is a first point of contact for technical support to the Canadian Forces CH146 maintenance community delivering first class customer support and training with a focus on reducing aircraft down time.

As part of a highly experienced and cohesive team, the Field Service Representative will be reporting to the BTCL Field Services Supervisor.


  • Provide technical specialist assistance to maintenance managers, technicians and operators for problems with CH146 systems.
  • Assist maintainers at all levels in researching and interpreting Canadian Forces Technical Orders (CFTO's), and using other reference tools such as Product Support Engineering (PSE) resources, ADAM data, CH146 XML Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM), etc.
  • Provide formal and informal classroom and On the Job Training on maintenance practices, troubleshooting techniques and repair procedures for aircraft systems, including engines, gearboxes, avionics, electrical, rotor systems and control rigging.
  • Provide guidance for BTCL modifications and retrofits; assist with installation problems and participate in the validation/verification of new modifications or special inspections;
  • Assist in the resolution of difficult, unusual or unforeseen problems with aircraft and aircraft systems.
  • Conduct technical research and participate in the design of system enhancements and modifications;
  • Advise maintenance managers on inspection and training programs as well as strengths and weaknesses with current maintenance practices;
  • Appraise and document all systems and structural anomalies affecting the aircraft airworthiness using the appropriate BTCL and/or Department of National Defence reporting methods.
  • Track support activity with Salesforce to provide reports;
  • Participate actively in the logístical coordination of spare parts, tooling, aircraft maintenance support equipment (AMSE) and documentation in support of all CH146 maintenance activities, not exclusively, but especially during AOG situations;
  • Review and document and report any anomalies identified within maintenance documents;
  • Submit reports as required by the BTCL Field Services Suprvisor;
  • Travel to regional units quarterly as a minimum and international bases upon request to provide support.

Qualifications

Requirements:


  • College diploma in Aircraft Maintenance or equivalent training within the Canadian Forces is required.
  • Prior indepth experience on the Bell 412 helicopter is required with prior military experience on the CH146 representing a major advantage.
  • TCCA AME license holder with recent experience consisting of a minimum eight (8) years in Bell 412 / CH146 aircraft maintenance, a minimum of three (3) of which is in a position of maintenance team lead; or be a holder of Level A and Level C authority on the CH146 with recent experience consisting of a minimum of eight (8) years in CH146 aircraft maintenance, a minimum of three (3) of which is in a position of maintenance team lead.
  • Must have successfully completed a CH146 Military Griffon training course or a TCCA approved 412 type courses.
  • Interpersonal and customer service skills are essential.
  • Instructing experience would be an asset.
  • Experience with Salesforce would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint).
  • Functional knowledge of English. Proactive, regular and consistent communication skills in English. French language ability would be a definite asset.
  • Travelling : 25 %

SECURITY CLEARANCE


The licensee must obtain and maintain a NATO Secret security clearance issued by the Industrial Security Program of Public Services and Supply Canada and BTCL security officers.
