Job Summary:


The Material Handler II, under the supervision of the warehouse leadership team, is responsible for perform a range of warehouse duties including, but not limited to picking, packing, shipping, receiving and repack.


Responsibilities:


  • Perform all types of order picking including cluster or mezzanine picking, list picking, and pallet picking.
  • Load and process LTL, TL and Small Parcel shipments.
  • Receives parts and checks against appropriate corresponding paperwork such as a purchase orders, packing list, etc.
  • Unloads merchandise from trucks or containers.
  • Accurate and complete labeling of boxes and pallets to comply with internal SOP's.
  • Can effectively copy, scan and file shipping documentation to assure Makita's ability to provide backup documentation and historical records.
  • Maintains neat, orderly, clean and safe work areas; this can and will include sweeping, dusting, trash disposal and other miscellaneous sanitation duties as assigned.
  • Operate forklift and/or pallet jack safely.
  • Assists in periodic physical inventory of stock on hand and in maintaining perpetual inventory.
  • Must be able to interpret data of warehouse system and key pertinent information.
  • Complies with all safety, customer compliance, and security procedures.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the workload requirements.
  • Performs other job specific duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of three (3) years warehouse experience or equivalent.
  • Forklift Certified.
  • Experience driving electric Walkie riders, stock chasers, pallet stretch wrapper
  • Team skills: ability to work in other departments as needed
  • Communication skills: ability to communicate with peers and management.
  • Manual Dexterity: Ability to operate all manual material handling equipment.
  • Accountability: Ability to follow instructions and follow through consistently.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage time to complete the assigned work.
  • General mathematical skills: Ability to process orders and recognize errors.
  • Problem Solving Skills: ability to recognize a problem and make adjustments or recommendations to correct the issue.
  • Attention to detail: ability to accurately and consistently complete work with little to no errors.

Pay:
$18.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
