Position Summary

:


Reporting to the Director, Compensation & HRIS, the Manager, Compensation Operations is accountable for managing, implementing and evolving compensation programs and initiatives for all Store, Logistics and Fleet associates (includes more than 400 stores and 10 Distribution Centers) within Walmart Canada.

The incumbent is also responsible for designing and operationalizing a robust governance model to ensure that compensation programs meet legislated, business and compliance requirements and are aligned with Walmart's overall compensation philosophy and direction.


What you'll do
:

Manage implementation of total compensation/rewards related activities and initiatives for the business. This includes all forms of day to day and compliance-related programs i.e.

minimum wage updates, associate impact analysis for Time and Attendance pay rule changes, job evaluation database maintenance, pay equity analysis and maintenance etc.

Partner with technology partners to implement program changes to ensure rules/structures are updated and mass upload for associates.

Lead regular wage budgeting and planning process with Finance.

Provide input in the design and development of compensation programs.

Develop, evolve and ensure governance framework is adhered to and identify continuous improvement opportunities.


Lead quarterly and year-end cycle inclusive of incentive accrual and calculation, annual increase, provide support to global equity grant and vest process.

Work with finance and business partners to ensure accurate accruals for respective client groups providing appropriate communication material.

Monitor compensation escalations and manage Comp audit activities.


Provide motivation, coaching, training and developmental opportunities to Compensation Analysts; including, participating in staffing decisions, orientation of new employees and the performance appraisal process.


Qualifications

  • 57 years of experience in compensation
  • Advanced MS Office suite, Project management and HRIS
  • Experience with E2E compensation cycle with ability to manage large complex/programs under tight timeline
  • Strong communications skills and the ability to motivate and lead others.
  • Knowledge of Employment Standard Acts (provincial and federal regulated)
  • Strong relationship management, consultation and negotiation
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking and analysis skills
  • Comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment ‎
