Reporting to the Manager of Materials Management and Environmental & Linen Services, the Purchasing Supervisor will supervise and coordinate the stores and purchasing departments.

The Purchasing Supervisor will work with external agencies, in-house maintenance staff, and outside vendors to develop and maintain an ongoing preventative program and database.

Successful completion of Grade 12 or equivalent;
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a health care environment;
Minimum of 2 years' experience with a computerized Materials Management System;
Demonstrated ability to speak to a small group and on a onetoone basis using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to clearly communicate expectations to staff;
Demonstrated leadership skills, including interpersonal skills, team building skills, verbal and written communication skills, and problemsolving skills;
Skills in supervising staff including the ability to delegate responsibility, organize objectives, and evaluate subordinate effectiveness;
Demonstrated knowledge of general medical and surgical supplies;
Demonstrated time management skills and the ability to work independently under strict deadlines;
Demonstrated satisfactory attendance levels, work performance, disciplinary history, and positive work references.
