    Position Overview:

    The Quality Specialist will provide technical support, from a quality perspective, in the resolution of production concerns. This is accomplished through the completion of studies, and the development of processes and procedures. The Engineer is responsible for verifying that all quality standards relating to production processes and finished goods are adhered to under all circumstances.

    Quality Engineer's responsibilities:


    • Conduct studies to provide Root Cause Analysis and assistance in the resolution of product and process concerns.

    • Communicate quality-related changes to other Engineering Departments to ensure that the corrective action can be applied to future similar circumstances.

    • Develop, manage and provide support for troubleshooting to ensure a focus on Pareto resolution of high priority customer concerns.

    • Provide support and direction for Advance Product Quality Planning activity related to new product launches. This includes process design, process and product validation, the identification and implementation of performance standards, schedules and programs and the development of quality standards and schedules.

    • Participate in the development of shop floor procedures to ensure that defined corrective actions are permanent.

    • Provide support to Quality and Engineering Department leadership to allow for effective data collection and analysis, resulting in a strong focus on proactive problem resolution.

    • Through cross-functional work and multi-disciplined studies with all other departments, drive improvements for in-house rejections, customer concerns, cost of quality and run ratio measurables.

    • Benchmark Techform quality practices against those of other automotive suppliers with the goal of continuous improvement.

    • Assist in responding to customer complaints in an appropriate and timely manner (ie. 8-D, 7-D, 5-P).

    Qualifications


    • A post-secondary degree as an Industrial or Mechanical Engineer or equivalent is required;

    • Superior organizational skills are required;

    • Superior written and verbal communication skills are required;

    • A thorough knowledge of generally accepted Quality Control procedures is required;

    • A Master Degree or P.Eng. designation would be a definite asset.
