    What we are looking for:

    Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Global Head of Total Portfolio Solutions (TPS), the Portfolio Manager (PM), Multi-Asset Class Solutions will support our ambition to further grow and strengthen our leadership in the Canadian institutional market and act as an efficient capital allocator through our client focus, purpose driven, thought leadership and innovation in financial science.

    To effectively serve our clients for years to come, you will work closely with the Fixed Income Solutions, Global Asset Allocation, Trading, Public & Private Markets Portfolio Management and CIO Offices, Regional Distribution, and Investment Analytics teams. You will be in charge of two to four team members within the Multi-Asset Class Solutions Team.

    Your responsibilities:
    • Lead the construction, implementation and monitoring of client goal-oriented portfolios as an Portfolio Manager in the MACS team, in collaboration with other Solutions and Strategy PMs, using our proprietary risk factor-based ALM optimization tool for:
      • Total portfolio solutions in liability/legislation-aware framework for pension plans or insurers
      • Balanced mandates
      • Model portfolios for private wealth investors
      • Addition of specific asset classes, spanning public and privates' markets
      • Resolving pinpointed issues such as income generation in a high inflation environment
    • Meet with clients across Canada, the US and EMEA for finalist presentations and ongoing portfolio monitoring meetings
    • Liaise and create collaboration opportunities through strong partnership within the Total Portfolio Solutions Group, CIO office, and with asset managers across public and private markets
    • Contribute to research and development goals including new modelling functionalities, investment analytics, portfolio rebalancing, and evaluation of future investment strategies as we carry on the evolution of our proprietary asset allocation tool
    • Provide education and support for client-facing professionals
    • In a nutshell - Act as a key resource for portfolio construction challenges for all parts of the organization in a fast-growing team
    Must have requirements to be successful in this role:
    • Strong educational credentials with a quantitative background (financial engineering, actuarial, mathematics)
    • Advanced degree and/or mix of financial and actuarial credentials (CFA, FSA, CAIA, or equivalent)
    • Actively maintains engagement with new research and development in asset allocation, finance, economy through formal or informal training activities
    • Must have worked in the buy-side investment industry with direct contribution to portfolio management decision for 10 years
    • Must have experience building and operating ALM modeling and optimizing portfolio for liability-matching
    • Knowledge, understanding and ability to inform financial modelling of traditional and non-traditional asset classes through macroeconomic risk factors for:
      • Public markets,
      • Private markets,
      • Specialized and overlays: LDI, duration completion, equity, tail-risk and currency,
      • ESG, climate risk and impact investing
    • Experience with liability-aware investing and knowledge of legislation for foundations, insurers and pension plans in Canada (experience in the US will be considered an asset)
    • Ability to create understanding for audiences of different background and drive decision-making through effective presentation of complex portfolio management concepts
    • Compelling track record of being a key contributor through strategic deployment and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
    • Investment savvy and experience implementing portfolios across different investor types
    • Has thorough understanding of investor objectives, constraints and implementation challenges
    • Quantitative background with a preference for data and research-based decision
    • Proactive team contributor
    • Integrity and professionalism
    • Excellent communicator (in French and English)
