About Global Functions:
HSBC's Global Functions play a vital role in supporting the bank's Global Businesses and offer a broad range of career opportunities in areas from Legal, Risk and Finance to Human Resources, Sustainability and Communications.
Our operational and functional teams around the world help HSBC's Global Businesses to operate efficiently and effectively on a day-to-day basis.
They also focus on controls and governance to reduce risk and protect the Group's reputations.Human Resources is responsible for implementing HSBC's people strategy.
It facilitates talent management, succession planning and employee mobility while defining and overseeing frameworks that support employee performance management, reward, learning and development, resourcing and engagement.
About the role:
Responsibilities:
- Build and execute a People Strategy that supports the business transformation of the Canada ServCo
- Implement Group/Regional HR Strategy in Canada FTE) taking into account countryspecific priorities
- Become a proactive and trusted Business Partner, primarily for an IT function (c83% of overall population)
- Support country organizational design that reflects the strategic objectives of the Canadian operations including the effective migration of roles throughout the lifecycle of the ServCo
- Plan, develop, implement and manage strategies and programs in Canada that support and align with the HSBC Group's overall employee engagement, diversity and inclusion policy
- Work with Development team and Business to retain the best talent (and manage recruitment where necessary)
- Deliver a country learning platform and promote the transfer of knowledge
- Motivate, develop and retain staff through effective training and development and a relevant employee experience during a period of transformation
- Support the implementation of the Group Reward policies adapted for the local markets, ensuring that Employer of Choice, Best Place To Work and Pay for Performance intentions are met
- Manage HR Risk and maintain policies to ensure compliance with local/regional legal, risk and audit requirements
- Minimum 8 years of HR experience including HR Manager / Relationship Management experience
- Broad HR generalist background, with IT coverage experience strongly preferred
- Experience in implementing transformation and change programs
- Excellent people management, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Ability to prioritize and work independently under pressure within a team environment
