- Greet and gather necessary information from patients, explain the specimen collection process, and ensure patients adhere to the required test protocol before collection.
- Perform various test collections, documentation, and complete data entry of patient demographics and test-related information.
- Show empathy, flexibility, adaptability to change, and problem-solving skills in your role.
- Completion of a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent experience in healthcare professions with previous training in phlebotomy, IV infusion, or IV therapy.
- ECG training or experience is beneficial.
- Proficient in data entry.
- Compensation will be determined based on experience, education, market conditions, and internal equity.

LifeLabs is currently seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join our team in Duncan, BC.
As a Laboratory Assistant, your responsibilities will include overseeing the specimen collection process, from welcoming patients to preparing specimens for transportation.
This part-time regular float position with the Cowichan Team offers day shifts and the chance to take on additional shifts at different LifeLabs locations.
Working Days:
Monday-Saturday.
The ideal candidate should be prepared to travel to all 5 sites: Mill Bay, Ladysmith, Lake Cowichan, and 2 Duncan Patient Service Centres.
