We are currently recruiting for an experienced and detailed finance leader to join our team as Finance Manager.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the overall day-by-day-operation of the financial department ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial information with the aim of maximizing value.

In addition this position is required to monitor internal control procedures for the purpose of safeguarding the company assets; and disseminate information to stakeholders about financial performance and viability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The key responsibilities of the Finance Manager include but are not limited to:

  • Lead and direct the Finance team to ensure the smooth operation of the accounting functions.
  • Provide overall supervision of the accounting records and financial reports of Pan Pacific Vancouver ensuring compliance with company, owner, statutory and fiscal requirements and timetables.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts, and resolve outstanding items.
  • Monitor and maintain cash level to sufficiently fund daily operation and capital purchases.
  • Review audited daily revenue and settlements; and daily revenue, labour, and food cost reports.
  • Plan and execute monthend and yearend closing, review general ledger, and produce monthly financial statements.
  • Prepare and update cash flow forecast.
  • Initiate payments for various taxes, payroll withholdings, and concessions.
  • Compile annual operating budget for Oracle import; Prepare below GOP annual budget.
  • Coordinate and plan annual external audit; Prepare PBC working papers and supporting documents; Make SAD adjusting entries.
  • Ensure that the balance sheet is reviewed regularly and reconciliations performed monthly for all accountants and liaise and cooperate with both Internal and External Auditors.
  • Provide payroll supervision and coverage as necessary.
  • Ensure that Finance Associates have a personal development plan.
  • Fulfill the role of Director of Finance in their absence.
  • Perform other jobrelated duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications and Technical Experience:


  • Three (3) years' experience in a progressive supervisory or management position in a finance department in a large scale hotel environment.
  • Relevant degree in Finance, Accounting or related business disciplines.
  • Experience with Payroll software systems such as ADP or Ceridian an asset.
  • Previous experience in a Hotel guest service position and /or front desk experience an asset.


  • Computer Skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency of computer skills, including micro activities and macro outlook; all other Microsoft Office Suite products require an intermediate working knowledge.
  • Working experience using Hotel Property Management System
  • Opera is an asset.
  • Excellent oral & written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively deal with the concerns of guests and associates in a friendly and positive manner, providing positive and proactive solutions.
