Head Soccer Coach


Reporting To:
Technical Director


Background
Umoja soccer school resides at Roncesvalles-Parkdale are in Toronto. We offer technical skills clinics for players age 4 to 12 all levels.

At Umoja soccer, we inspire and train all players to advance their technical skills in a small group environment that is tailored to individual needs.

We meet each player at their own level, with focused instruction to build on strengths and target personal challenges and goals.


Overall Objective:
Take responsibility for the development of young players within the age groups of 4-12 years old.


Main duties:


  • To plan and deliver ageappropriate training sessions and create a positive learning environment for all participants.

Key Tasks:


  • To ensure all Umoja training plan requirements are met within your age group.
  • Carry out your responsibilities with due regard to the Umoja values INSPIRE-TRAINPLAY and comply with all aspects of the Umoja coaching philosophy.

Behavioural Competencies:


  • Listen, interpret and convey information in a clear and accurate manner, provides timely delivery of information and select the most appropriate method of communication with young players, parents, coaches and stakeholders.
  • Work within a team environment, cooperate with others, consider the needs of others and help others to achieve objectives.
  • Treat individuals with respect at all time and create an environment of openness.

Essential
:
Have the abilities or experience to lead and coach a group of young players.


  • Be prepared to work 610 hours a week in the evenings.
  • Able to be on the field 30 minutes before the practice begins to set up for the sessions. Attend all scheduled training sessions, games and coaching education events.

Requirements:


  • CPR & First-Aid Certification (preferred)
  • Experience playing soccer (required)

QUALIFICATIONS
This is a friendly environment for coaches who just planning to get into coaching. You will be mentored by senior coaches. Umoja team is very supportive and will guide you during the soccer season.

Ability to commute/relocate:
(from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm)

Job Types:
Part-time, Seasonal

Part-time hours: 6-10 per week


Salary:
$20.00-$25.00 per hour


Schedule:

  • Evening shift
  • Monday to Friday
