The
Virtual Production TD possesses a deep understanding of the technologies involved in virtual production, including real-time rendering engines, motion tracking systems, virtual cameras, and LED walls.

They will collaborate with various departments, directors, cinematographers, art directors, and VFX supervisors to understand creative goals and translate them into technical requirements.

This position requires a blend of technical proficiency, leadership acumen, and an understanding of the unique challenges encountered in virtual production.

This position will have the opportunity to work on our LED volume, during prelight and principal photography shoots. You will also be working alongside our VAD team providing optimization of VAD environments in preparation for shooting.


Primary responsibilities

  • Provide realtime adjustments on set while adapting content to fit the filmmaker's vision.
  • Collaborate with the technical team to develop and implement custom tools and plugins to enhance Unreal Engine capabilities.
  • Integrate realtime visual effects into virtual production pipelines.
  • Optimize realtime rendering to achieve highquality, realtime visual effects.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks within Unreal Engine to ensure smooth, efficient rendering.
  • Contribute to postmortems and provide feedback to improve studio capabilities and workflows.
  • Assuming additional responsibilities in the absence of other colleagues or in support of other departments.
  • Train and mentor junior members of the team.

Ideal requirements

  • Proficiency in Unreal Engine, virtual production tools and software
  • Proficiency in utilizing Blueprints within Unreal Engine is preferred by not required.
  • Onset experience, demonstrating the ability to troubleshoot technical issues and ensure seamless integration of virtual and liveaction elements.
  • Experience with VR/Virtual Camera equipment, enabling effective navigation and control within virtual environments.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently in a realtime production environment.
  • Familiarity with film equipment, DMX lighting and LED hardware.
  • Knowledge of traditional VFX pipelines.
