Accounting Technician to work with clients in our Collingwood office, located at 10126 Highway 26 East, Unit #2.

This is a full-time position working 35 hours per week Monday to Friday 9:00am-4:30pm. After the probationary period elapses, the admission to our benefit program is allowable.


In addition to our competitive wage, our firm is closed every Friday for 10 weeks from July to September, as well as between Christmas and New Year's Day.

The Accounting Technician's responsibilities include bookkeeping, preparation of year end working papers and personal tax returns. Dedicated team players with strong work ethics will have the potential for increased responsibilities and personal growth.


Responsibilities for this position include:


  • Providing some bookkeeping assistance to clients, internally and externally, in various formats including Quickbooks Online and Sage, while maintaining the integrity of historical records
  • Completion of personal tax returns
  • Preparation of various special returns for review
  • Preparation of communication for clients, Canada Revenue Agency and others.
  • Compiling information provided from clients for review by team in a clear and concise manner.
  • Input information to Caseware to help prepare the yearend accounting
  • Provide daily checkins with your leader, includes updating file completion status.
  • Office duties, including answering telephone, greeting clients in a friendly manner, communicating with team.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Completion of a college/university education in accounting, bookkeeping or a related field
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working in a public accounting firm is preferred
  • Previous bookkeeping experience is required
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of QuickBooks Online, Sage Accounting, and Microsoft Office suite
  • Proficiency with the use of accounting and tax software an asset (Adobe, TaxCycle and Caseware)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly analytical and accurate, attention to detail is critical to this role
  • Willingness to learn and develop
  • Demonstrated team building skills
  • You have a strong work ethic, and you thrive on challenges
  • Strong timemanagement abilities and selfmotivation to work independently in a highvolume work environment
  • Demonstrates the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively and efficiently
  • You must be tech savvy with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues as they arise
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Adobe Acrobat and online meeting technology (eg: zoom, goto meetings).
  • Highly analytical and accurate, attention to detail is critical to this role
Remuneration is based on education and experience.
