Work Location:
This role is eligible for hybrid work.

This means you'll have the flexibility of working from home and in the office (in Regina only) on a scheduled rotation.


GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY


The Medical Facilitator is responsible for the interpretation and analysis of medical, functional, and vocational information for No Fault injured customers.

The incumbent reviews medical reports/files and interprets medical terminology, standards, conditions, and treatments.

The Medical Facilitator liaises between medical professionals, employers, external case coordinators and Personal Injury Representatives providing case management consultation services to Personal Injury Representatives and direction to service providers.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Interprets and analyzes medical, functional, and vocational information received from Healthcare providers e.g., treatment centres, assessment teams, customers' practitioners.
  • Interprets medical and vocational rehabilitation reports; and discuss with medical professionals, employers, external case coordinators, and Personal Injury Representatives to ensure appropriate course of rehabilitation and/or procession to residual employment determination.
  • Provides case management consultation services to Personal Injury Representatives (PIRs) and direction to healthcare providers.
  • Liaises and facilitates discussions between PIRs and treatment teams when problems develop during treatment or Return to Work programs.
  • Reviews files to ensure active case coordination and to develop action plans in accordance with the Early Intervention Program guidelines.
  • Develops and maintains online resource manuals for Personal Injury Representatives ie. best practice guidelines, procedure documents.
  • Prepares and delivers training to PIRs on procedures and processes for existing, new or changed policies and guidelines e.g., Early Intervention Program, Residual Employment Determination, medical marijuana, causation.
  • Responds to inquiries from healthcare providers and PIRs regarding departmental procedures, policies, and medical standards.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS- Knowledge of the insurance coverages and benefits provided by the AAIA and/or general business policy wordings.- Knowledge and understanding of the terminology and treatments involved in vocational and medical rehabilitation services, including catastrophic injuries.- Knowledge of current medical procedures for various injuries to the body, brain, muscles, and the expected healing times.- Knowledge of current medical and surgical conditions, treatments, and patient responses to medical treatment.- Understanding and knowledge of human anatomy to relate it to specific rehabilitation for specific injuries to the body.- Knowledge of the processes and procedures as they relate to case management and the adjustment of No Fault claims.- Knowledge of the organization and functions at SGI.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Fouryear degree from an accredited postsecondary education institution in a relevant field of study such as Nursing.
  • Must be registered or eligible to be registered with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association.
EXPERIENCE years' of directly related experience in nursing.


Pay Range:
$76, $96,672.00
