    Job Summary

    The Senior Contract Specialist will be responsible for acting as the "contract gatekeeper" and liaison between the business and Legal as well as providing contractual support to the Biopharma and Provider Solutions (BPS) business units.

    The role requires excellent interpersonal skills along with the ability to collaborate with various internal departments, including Finance and Legal. The Senior Contract Specialist may be asked to also deliver reports and presentations to Senior Leaders on current and future contract files.

    Specific Responsibilities

    • Manage and oversee all Biopharma and Provider Solutions (BPS) contracts in Apttus, including filing, updating, and serving as the liaison between business and legal
    • Support the business in drafting and negotiating contracts (NDAs, MSAs, SOWs, etc.) and organize them into the contract management system
    • Prepare and process RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs in coordination with stakeholders
    • Coordinate all contract/document management and administrative activities associated with existing programs, including tracking contractual deliverables and coordinating with internal departments regarding required actions
    • Review draft scope of work/specifications, advising requestors on improvements before submission to legal
    • Management and review of contractual requests submitted through Central Intake
    • Processing and monitoring the completion of documents in Docusign
    • Managing Salesforce and Apttus software access and working with the developers on system improvements required by the department and the business units
    • Processing contracts through Apttus from draft submission to full execution. Including review and comments of contracts submitted by requestors, submission and review of contracts submitted to legal, finalization and storage of fully executed contracts in Apttus. Document key features and contract terms in Apttus to allow for ease of tracking.
    • Design, implement and monitor a contract tracking system, ensuring accuracy, compliance and version control
    • Manage the life-cycle of contracts and advise the appropriate stakeholder on contract milestones, such as renewals deadlines
    • Train users on the access and use of the Contract Management Software and Salesforce.
    • Assess and manage contractual risks, working closely with legal and other relevant departments to identify potential risks in contracts, propose risk mitigation strategies, and develop and maintain a risk assessment framework for contracts, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations

    General Responsibilities

    • Process Legal requests submitted through Central Intake and manage enhancements to requestor, contract management and legal applications in Central Intake
    • Provide feedback to business partners to ensure that they have processes in place that can be defended in internal and external audits specific to Contract Management
    • Act as a Subject Matter Expert in supporting the business in document requirements, Salesforce, Docusign, Apttus, X-Author management
    • Create training materials, update SOP's to support the department and the business regarding the processing of contracts and legal requests submitted through Central Intake.
    • Conduct one on one training for new users or group training for enhancements to the contract management software
    • Strong knowledge of McKesson Biopharma and Provider Solutions offerings to understand the interdependencies between different business units
    • Ability to plan, schedule and organize a variety of activities that deal with situations involving complex issues with tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy
    • Leadership skills, providing direction to others without formal management responsibilities
    • Assisting with special projects, as applicable
    • Identify opportunities for process optimization within the contract management lifecycle, implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
    • Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for contract management activities, generating regular reports for senior management to provide insights into contract performance, compliance, and potential areas for improvement
    • Foster and maintain positive relationships with vendors, serving as a key liaison between the organization and external partners, ensuring effective communication, conflict resolution, and collaboration throughout the contract life-cycle

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Minimum 5 years of direct experience in Program Management and contract management, preferably within the Healthcare industry
    • Undergraduate degree or Paralegal professional/Law clerk experience preferred

    Key Competencies

    • Knowledgeable about the components of MSA, NDA, and SOWs
    • Superior business application skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Salesforce, Apttus)
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to build and maintain good relationships with colleagues at all levels of the organization and promote harmony amongst team members, other McKesson employees/divisions and external stakeholders
    • Strategic perspective with an ability to effectively manage the details and make decisions based on sound knowledge and good judgement
    • Experience in working in a fast-paced work environment with fluctuating demand for services is essential
    • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interface with program/project stakeholders as well as internal and external customers
    • Proficiency in French (Bilingualism) is considered an asset

    Our Base Pay Range for this position

    $86,600 - $144,300
